Alpendorf Mountain Lifts - Lift Hikes
The Alpendorf Gondola brings you comfortably and quickly from Alpendorf (the valley station is only 50 m from our hotel!) to the Gernkogel, an area of alpine pastures and great hiking paths! It doesn’t matter if you want to make just a few steps to the nearest meadow or an extended high altitude hike! In any case, cozy huts along the way invite you to step inside for a rest and typical alpine snacks.
The Alpendorf Ghost Mountain
In a splendid panoramic location, the young kids will find a variety of ghosts, the older kids will find the longest slides and biggest swings, and adults can enjoy a special hiking and nature experience.
The Ghost Park also offers: well-kept, spooky trails on and around the Gernkogel, panoramic towers, mountain climbing, giant slides, Krampus caves, swings, shooting galleries, water games, mill wheels, waterfalls...
The largest ice cave in the world
A cave system of over 40 km stretches through the craggy limestone massif of the Tennengebirge and includes an amazing natural phenomenon. In addition, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Salzachtal and Hohenwerfen Castle (approx.. 25 km from the hotel).
Hohenwerfen Castle- castle of adventure
This former fortress of the prince archbishops from the 11th century attracts visitors daily with castle tours, special events, a stylish tavern and a medieval gift shop.
Of particular interest is the historic State Falconer, including bird-of-prey shows.
The Grossglockner – Austria’s highest mountain
The most famous alpine road leads you into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, to the highest mountain in Austria, the Grossglockner (3,798m) and its glacier, the Pasterze. You pass through a unique world of mountains with blossoming alpine meadows, fragrant mountain forests, massive cliffs and eternal ice to the foot of the Grossglockner, the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe.
Ferleiten Wildlife Park
Right next to the Grossglocknerstraße before the toll station there are over 200 animals indigenous to the alps on around 15 hectares of land. A walk around the park takes around one hour. The paths are all suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. (approx.. 47 km from the hotel).
Bad Dürrnberg Salt Mine
In Hallein, the oldest mine in the world open to visitors, everyone from the age of four up can take part in a treasure hunt – and follow the mysterious, ancient miners’ tunnels for many kilometres into the mystical mountain. (ca. 45 km from the hotel). Children will be excited by their ride down the salt slides!
Salzburg - World Heritage Site and Festival City
It is the playful lightness that makes Salzburg, the miniature metropolis, so distinctive. The enchanting silhouette of the Fortress, Cathedral and church steeples in this baroque city north of the Alps. So beautiful that it is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. So famous that its attractions are among the most famous in the world. (approx.. 55 km from the hotel).
Salzburg Open-Air Museum
An experience under the open sky. Here, you can discover 60 original buildings from across Salzburger Land dating all the way back to the 5th century, buildings such as farm houses, breweries, blacksmith shops...(approx.. 65 km from the hotel).
Wagraini's Grafenberg - Mountain & Nature Experience
The „Grafenberg Lift“ takes you comfortably and effortlessly up to 1700 metres altitude where your adventure begins : from the Grafenberg Lake with its raft or the hanging bridge over to the themed walk "The Busy Bees", down the Hachau slides to the rope garden. Go to the forest swings with a stop on the way at the climbing wall, and then the “Path of Fascination” leads you back to the children’s farm.
The unique zoo territory at the foot of the Hellbrunner Mountain with the steep rocky Cliffside on one side and the hilly floodplain landscape on the other is home to around 800 animals. The zoo gates open at 9:00, 365 days a year!
House of Nature
A huge natural history attraction for young and old. In over 35 exhibits, the Haus der Natur shows the fascinating and the interesting, the oddities and things important to know about “connections” in nature, and does so in a way that is understandable to everyone.
With their impressive waterfall drop of 380m the Krimml Waterfalls are the fifth highest waterfalls in the world. Enjoy the refreshing mizzle and the impressive power of the water amidst the gorgeous scenery of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
Hüttschlag Valley Museum
At the end of Grossarl highway, you will find the Hüttschlag Valley Museum, which comprises several buildings. Main attractions are the "Gensbichlhaus", an old farmhouse with folk- and natural history exhibits, as well as the "Talwirt" National Park House.

The Königssee is an elongated mountain lake in Berchtesgadener Land. It lies nestled in the mountains of Berchtesgaden National Park below the Watzmann. A boat ride on this beautiful lake is an important part of the experience. On the route to St.. Bartholomä, the skipper will demonstrate to passengers the impressive echo with a flugelhorn or a trumpet.

Geopark Erz der Alpen
Das Besucherzentrum ist der zentrale Ausgangspunkt des Geoparks. Die teilnehmenden Orte Bischofshofen, Mühlbach am Hochkönig, Hüttau und St. Veit präsentieren sich in einer gemeinsamen Ausstellung mit originalgetreuen Einrichtungen rund um den prähistorischen und historischen Erzabbau und machen das Thema somit zu einem außergewöhnlichen und „begreifbaren“ Erlebnis. Der Besucher erhält eine vielfältige Übersicht über den gesamten Geopark mit all seinen Attraktionen wie Geosites, Schaubergwerken, Schaustollen und Museen.
